Melanie Stansbury is a state legislator in New Mexico for 28th House district. She was first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2020. In the state legislature, she worked on several committees: Energy, Environment & Natural Resources (Vice Chair), Printing & Supplies, Taxation & Revenue, Science & Tech, Water & natural Resources, Indian Affairs, and Legislative Finance. She is a strong Democrat.
Melanie Stansbury was born and raised in New Mexico. She earned her Bachelors in Human Ecology and Natural Sciences from St. Mary's College in California and MS in Sociology from Cornell University.
