Dave Min is a California State Senator, elected in 2020, and a former law professor at UC Irvine. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Min has also worked in financial regulation, including at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
A first-generation Korean-American, Min grew up in California. He lives in Irvine with his wife Jane and their three children.
In the California Senate, Min has successfully passed 28 bills, including legislation to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution, expand protections for domestic violence survivors, and address climate change. He is known for his strong stance on gun control, including banning gun sales on state property.
