Frank J. Mrvan (born February 11, 1945) is a dedicated public servant, lifelong Hoosier, and incumbent U.S. Representative for Indiana’s 1st Congressional District, a seat he has represented since winning election in 2020. Raised in northwest Indiana, Mrvan comes from a family deeply rooted in the region’s working-class traditions. His career has spanned decades of leadership in public safety and local government before ascending to national office. Prior to Congress, he served with distinction as Lake County Sheriff, where he focused on community policing, violence reduction, and enhancing public safety for families across the region.

As a member of Congress, Mrvan brings a pragmatic, people-first approach grounded in decades of service to his neighbors.
