Adam Hamilton is a fifth-generation Kansan, longtime community leader, pastor, and author running for the United States Senate to bring people together and put Kansas ahead of partisan politics.
Adam grew up in Prairie Village in a family whose Kansas roots stretch back nearly 150 years. His ancestors helped build communities in Dickinson County, while his maternal grandparents came to Wichita to work at Beechcraft. He married his high school sweetheart, LaVon, shortly after graduation and has spent his adult life serving communities across Kansas.
For more than three decades, Adam led Church of the Resurrection, which grew from a small congregation meeting in a funeral-home chapel into the largest United Methodist congregation in the country. In the process, he built a community that included Republicans, Democrats, and independents—and developed a leadership style rooted in listening, finding common ground, and bringing together people who do not always agree.
Before launching his Senate campaign, Adam traveled to communities across Kansas on an 18-city listening tour. He heard directly from farmers, ranchers, small-business owners, families, and community leaders concerned about the rising cost of healthcare, groceries, fuel, housing, and the economic effects of tariffs and instability in Washington.
Those conversations helped shape a campaign focused on:
- lowering the cost of food, healthcare, housing, and energy
- protecting Kansas farmers, ranchers, and small businesses from harmful economic policies
- improving access to healthcare, particularly in rural communities
- restoring common sense, decency, and accountability to government
- working across party lines to solve problems
- protecting individual freedoms and ensuring government serves ordinary people rather than powerful interests
Adam describes himself as an independent-minded Democrat because he believes Kansas does not need more partisan warfare—it needs leaders willing to listen to people with different views and work together where common ground exists.
He is running for Senate with a simple premise: Kansans should not have to agree on everything to work together on the things that matter.
After decades spent building bridges in one of Kansas’s largest and most politically diverse communities, Adam is now asking Kansans to give him the opportunity to do the same in Washington.
