Chedrick Greene

MI-SD-35

Chedrick Greene

Chedrick Greene is a highly decorated U.S. Marine veteran and Fire Captain who has spent more than 30 years living a life of service and putting others before self. Raised in Mid-Michigan and shaped by working-class values, Greene built his career on protecting families, responding in moments of crisis, and leading with courage under pressure. His commitment to public safety and community runs deep, from serving his country in the Marines to serving his neighbors as a firefighter and emergency leader.

Now, Greene is running for Michigan State Senate District 35 in a critical special election to bring that same service-driven leadership to Lansing. He is focused on making life more affordable, keeping communities safe, and protecting fundamental freedoms for families across Mid-Michigan. With extremists pushing dangerous policies and this open seat set to determine majority control in the State Senate, Greene is running to deliver steady, working-class leadership and real results for the people of District 35.

Key Issue Stances & Priorities

  • Lowering Costs for Working Families — Greene is running to make life more affordable for Mid-Michigan families facing rising costs for groceries, housing, healthcare, and utilities.
  • Public Safety & Community Protection — As a Fire Captain and lifelong public servant, Greene is committed to keeping communities safe and ensuring first responders have the resources they need.
  • Defending Fundamental Freedoms — Greene is focused on protecting personal liberties and standing up to extremist agendas in Lansing.
  • Working-Class Leadership — With decades of real-world experience, Greene brings the perspective of someone who has served on the front lines, not in politics-as-usual.
  • Standing Up for Michigan Values — Greene is building a coalition of labor, community leaders, and working families to fight for fairness and opportunity.

Why Chedrick Greene

  • Decorated U.S. Marine & Fire Captain: A proven leader with a lifetime of service.
  • Endorsed by Key Leaders: The only candidate endorsed by Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet, State Rep. Amos O’Neal, and organized labor.
  • Majority-Defining Race: MI-SD-35 is the open seat that will decide control of the Michigan Senate.
  • Strong Against Extremism: Greene is prepared to stand up to extremists and deliver practical leadership for working families.
  • Built for Tough Fights: This is a high-stakes, competitive special election — and Greene has the courage and experience to win.

As we set our sights toward the General Election, voters have a clear choice— a leader grounded in working class experiences, who has put his life on the line for three decades defending our freedoms and protecting Michiganders; or an out-of-touch Republican rubber stamp who is too MAGA to denounce this administration’s violent violation of our Constitutional rights. Whether my Republican opponent is Christian Velasquez or Jason Tunney, both are ultra-wealthy, elite extremists who can ride out this cost crisis. But, the people I talk to everyday in Bay, Midland, and Saginaw are suffering under Republicans’ tariff chaos and health care cuts.
