Christina Hines is a Macomb County prosecutor, working mom, and lifelong community advocate running to represent Michigan’s 10th Congressional District.
Christina grew up in a hardworking middle-class family in Macomb County and attended Warren Woods Public Schools. She went on to graduate from the University of Michigan and earn her law degree from Wayne State University Law School before beginning a career devoted to protecting victims and holding dangerous offenders accountable.
As a prosecutor and legal leader in Michigan, Christina has handled cases involving sexual assault, child abuse, human trafficking, hate crimes, homicide, torture, and cold-case sexual assaults. She has taken cases from local district courts to the Michigan Supreme Court and also helped launch a restorative justice program.
That experience shapes how Christina approaches public service: protect people, hold powerful actors accountable, and focus on results.
She is also raising three young children in Macomb County and understands firsthand the pressures families face from the rising costs of groceries, childcare, housing, healthcare, utilities, and everyday necessities.
Christina is running for Congress to:
- lower the cost of groceries, childcare, housing, healthcare, and energy
- protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid
- support small businesses, Michigan manufacturing, and good-paying union jobs
- strengthen workers’ rights and support the PRO Act
- improve public education and expand career and technical education
- combat fentanyl trafficking while expanding treatment and rehabilitation
- protect reproductive freedom and constitutional rights
- strengthen consumer protections for seniors
- safeguard Lake St. Clair and the Great Lakes
- ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks
- reduce the influence of corporate money in politics
- restore independence and integrity to the Department of Justice
Christina’s campaign is rooted in the community she has called home her entire life. Her coalition includes local mayors, county officials, state legislators, law-enforcement leaders, school-board members, and former Democratic candidates from across Macomb County.
She is running to bring a prosecutor’s determination, a mother’s perspective, and deep local roots to Congress—and to make sure working families in Macomb and Oakland Counties have someone fighting for them in Washington.
Macomb County is my home, and as a working mom of three young children, I know how hard it is to get by - paying for groceries, healthcare, childcare and more - and how important it is that we protect our children and honor our seniors. I refuse to stand idly by while billionaires leave working families like ours in the lurch. I am a Mom on a Mission fighting to lower costs, protect families, and defend our democracy.
