Haley Stevens

Haley Stevens was born June 29, 1983, in Michigan and raised in a family rooted in public service, problem-solving, and community engagement. She earned her undergraduate degree from American University and later received a master’s degree from the London School of Economics, focusing on international development and economic policy. Before running for office, Stevens built a career centered on strengthening the American middle class and revitalizing manufacturing communities. She served as chief of staff to President Obama’s Auto Rescue Task Force during the Great Recession, where she helped save Michigan’s auto industry and protect hundreds of thousands of jobs — an experience that shaped her lifelong commitment to workers, manufacturing, and economic resilience.

In 2018, Stevens was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Michigan’s 11th Congressional District, flipping a historically Republican seat in suburban Detroit. She has since been re-elected multiple times in competitive races, establishing herself as a pragmatic, results-oriented lawmaker. In Congress, Stevens has focused on lowering costs for families, strengthening domestic manufacturing, supporting small businesses, protecting reproductive freedom, and investing in innovation and workforce development. In 2025, she announced her candidacy for the U.S. Senate, running to bring Michigan-first leadership, economic expertise, and a record of delivery to Washington.
