Candidate Profile

Paul Lentz

MO-HD-101

Paul Lentz

Paul Lentz is a Chesterfield resident, accountant, software engineer, small-business operator, and community volunteer running to represent Missouri House District 101.

Paul’s career has given him experience across several parts of Missouri’s economy.

As a corporate revenue accountant, he learned how to balance budgets, understand how large businesses operate, and see firsthand how government policy affects day-to-day business decisions.

As a software analyst and big-data engineer, he worked in a rapidly changing technology environment and developed experience solving complex problems with data, systems, and practical decision-making.

And as a small-business operator, Paul has experienced the challenges facing entrepreneurs and working families from the ground up.

Across those roles, he has developed a straightforward philosophy about government: Missourians deserve leadership grounded in integrity, reason, and compassion.

Paul has also spent years volunteering with people with disabilities and unhoused Missourians, experiences that reinforced his belief that effective government must work for the people who need it most as well as the businesses and taxpayers who support it.

He is running for State House to:

  • fully fund Missouri’s public schools
  • expand universal pre-K
  • create more vocational and technical pathways for high school students
  • end school lunch debt
  • make healthcare and essential medications more affordable
  • expand access to primary care
  • protect the minimum-wage increase and paid sick leave Missouri voters approved
  • maintain a responsible state budget without shifting more costs onto working families and seniors
  • invest in safer roads, pedestrian infrastructure, public transit, and sustainable energy
  • make state government more responsive to the voters it represents

Paul’s approach is pragmatic rather than ideological.

He believes strong public schools help families and businesses alike. Affordable healthcare makes communities stronger. Responsible budgeting matters. Infrastructure should make neighborhoods safer and more connected. And when Missouri voters approve policies at the ballot box, elected officials should respect those decisions.

HD-101 voted Democratic at the presidential level in 2024 but continues to send a Republican representative to Jefferson City.

Paul is running to close that gap by offering Chesterfield and West St. Louis County voters something practical: local representation focused on competent government, strong communities, and making sure Missouri gives its best back to the people who give their best every day.

Paul’s own platform specifically identifies public-school funding and universal pre-K, a healthcare “Patient’s Bill of Rights,” preservation of voter-approved paid sick leave and minimum-wage increases, balanced budgeting, and transportation and infrastructure investment as core priorities.

Missourians give their best every day. It's time they get the same back from their representatives.
